BIG NEWS I MUST SHARE

i have BIG BIG BIG news! Okay, about 30 days ago one of the janitors in my school has a friend whos a farmer and for every 4th grade class, he gets duck eggs for them. Well, i'm in forth grade this year... 30 days ago we got our eggs... and on June 1st they were suppose to hatch... and out of 7, we watched 4 live ducks hatch!!! WE ACTUALLY WATCHED THEM COME OUT OF THE EGG!!! This is the ducks info. (the way i put them is the order they hatched.)

Arod- His birthday is June 1st, he has darker yellow around his eyes and nose. He hatched right when i got into the classroom!

Gabbie-Her birthday is June 1st, she also is a darker yellow color but not as dark as Arod, she got her name because she peeps alot.

Lucky- His birthday is June 1st, he is weak and has a really , really, REALLY thin neck skinnier than a pencil. His fur is wet still from coming out of the egg, so you can tell he's Lucky because he's the wettest one (the wettest ones are the darkest-yellow ones) he got his name because his leg got stuck in the sticky stuff in the egg (called the albuman), but he was okay.

Quack- His birthday is June 1st, he is actually the wettest now because he was the one to come out right before we had to get on the bus and go home at the end of the day. He got his name because, like Gabbie, he peeps alot and we didn't wanna' name him Gabbie Jr. cause thats just kindergarden stuff.

So 4 eggs have hatched, Arod, Gabbie, Lucky, and Quack!!! WE HAVE DUCKS! 3 of them still have, we labeled them, the ones that have to hatch are numbers 1, 6, and 9. 9 is almost out, his/he's beak is there, but it doesn't move and try to get out and in the right position and all. Number 7 doesn't even have a crack in him, he looks the same the day we got them where they were just a yoke and albuman. Number 1 has a big air cell. An air cell is an empty spot in the egg where its just air, if the air cell is too big, the duck doesn't get enough liquids and dries up and cant get out of the egg because its too dry for him to home. Also, if the air cell is too small, there's too much liquids and the duck can drown. BUT I HOPE NONE OF THE DUCKS HAVE TO GO THROUGH THAT!!! DUCK EGGS!! DUCK EGGS!! DUCK EGGS!!
