New in Town: Part 1

We pulled into the driveway. I got out of the car and saw the 3-story blue and white house. The backyard was huge and the front yard had rows of trees down both sides. My little sister, Jessica, ran in the house. I whispered to myself, "Home"

I picked the tower room on the 3rd story. It was huge and in a circle shape. there was a balcony with curtains, and my bed just matched the creamy wall color. I unpacked my clothes and antique dolls. I was so happy. I had a beautiful house in a beautiful neighborhood. But then i remembered, I'm gonna' be the new kid in school.

The next day was the first day of school. My mom sent us to a rich-people school. I had to wear a stupid blue plaid skirt and a white polo shirt. My hair also had to be pulled back in a braid. I hated it. When i was walking around campus, some mean girls stopped me in my tracks. "Looky here, it's the new kid. The chess club is that way, dork!" said the biggest girl. She pushed me on the ground. I got cutts on my knees and elbows. Well, this is a great day so far.... kinda.... ya not really.

My first class was gym. I had to wear black pants, hot, sweaty black pants. We were rock climbing in the gym. We each had a partner, my partner was a girl named Kelsy. "Laura and Kelsy, you're up." said the gym teacher, Mr. Rodnick. I gulped and strapped on the bungie cord. Kelsy and i started climbing up the rock wall, side by side. "So you're the new girl, right?" asked Kelsy. I nodded and kept climbing, "Where do you live?" she added. "1067 Crystal Avenue." i answered. Kelsy gasped and said, "Cool I'm your neighbor! I could show you around the neighborhood.... if you'de like. I was the new kid last year, and it can be pretty bad." I smiled and nodded. We got to the top and Mr. Rodnick said we were amazing.

After school, i told my mom and dad about Kelsy and how she's going to show me around the neighborhood. My mom said that was great and my dad said it's good I'm making friends. After dinner, Kelsy came over. I introduced her to Jessica and my mom and dad, i also showed her my pet bunny, Rosealita (rose-uh-leet-uh). Then she started showing me around the neighborhood.

"There's the supermarket, where we get all our fresh fruit, vegetables, and meat. Oh, and over there is the ballet school, oh oh and over there is the soccer field. There's 12 more blocks to show you, but it's getting dark. How bout' we pick this up tomorrow." I nodded and said thanks for being so kind. Then she walked me home. Well, maybe being new isn't so bad.
